- Pictorial reading comprehension.
For the development of the objectives related to the knowledge of concepts and properties of the language, as well as their uses, the basic resources are the contents related to language and linguistic normalization and instruments for analysis and description of the Portuguese language. The contents that focus on the domain of communicative practices in multimedia environment and reading of image will be naturally mobilized in the deepening of the objectives of the development of reading, writing, and digital literacies.
The theoretical and practical classes and seminars will include explanations and debate on program themes and practical experimentation, individual and group reading activities, writing and grammar reflection. This theoretical and practical work in the classroom will be complemented by research and by reading documents, articles and books, as well as by activities involving cross-functional skills of reading, writing practices and writing in multimedia environment.
Participation in oral presentations, debate, practical development, and research processes ensure the integration of knowledge, articulating content and objectives. The teaching methodologies give centrality to the development of students as autonomous professionals in the multifunctional domain of oracy, reading, and writing.
The assessment will include punctuality, attendance (a minimum of 75% attendance) and the participation of students in the activities of classes and performing tasks. Further, it integrates the development of practical work (oral presentations with a digital support) and the development of a written production.
The evaluation elements are:
- Punctuality, attendance, class participation and other tasks: 10%.
- Audiovisual production work on a language subject (group): 50%.
- Writing task for audiovisual media (individual): 40%.
As an alternative to continuous evaluation, students can take a final exam. During the first week of classes, students should contact the teacher in order to choose the evaluation modality. If a student chooses the final exam, he/she may, like all the other students, access the activities of the UC page on Moodle.
Students with special status should contact the teacher during the first weeks of classes to define the forms of assessment.
Required - minimum of 75% attendance.
